Meet the Founder: Marina Pullin

The Here for Good Foundation began with a question many of us have asked but few have acted on: What can I do to make a difference in the face of domestic and family violence?

For Marina Pullin, that question became the spark that lit the foundation of a movement. As the founder of the Here for Good Foundation (HFGF), Marina has dedicated herself to breaking the silence around domestic violence, building pathways for awareness, education, and prevention, and creating a network of support for survivors.

In our very first podcast episode of Here for Good: Breaking the Silence, we sat down with Marina to uncover the heart of the mission, the story of how the foundation began, the challenges faced along the way, and the vision for a future free from violence.

The Missing Pieces

Marina shared that the early seeds of the foundation were planted through deep concern for people suffering behind closed doors, unseen and unsupported.

“What I noticed,” she explains, “was a gap in the conversation. We often hear survivor stories—and they are incredibly important—but we rarely talk about systems, prevention, and the education that could stop this cycle before it begins.”

That insight became central to the Here for Good Foundation: not only supporting those in crisis, but also working to prevent future harm through advocacy, partnerships, and public awareness campaigns.

Why Here for Good?

When asked about the name, Marina reflected that Here for Good has a double meaning: being here to do good, and acting for the cause until that day without DFV. That balance of resilience and compassion defines the foundation’s work.

Services and Support

The Foundation now offers a range of programs designed to uplift and empower, from celebrating people who work in their community to help people experiencing DFSV, to working in groups to address the root causes of DFSV. Marina highlights that this collaboration is vital: “It’s never just one person or one organisation; it’s all of us, pulling together.”

Among the many projects, she is especially proud of the public campaigns that put domestic violence in the spotlight, urging communities to take responsibility and action.

A Vision for the Future

Some say domestic violence can never be eliminated. Marina sees things differently. “What does a world without DFSV look like?” she asked the Foundation members earlier this year. For her, success is measured not just in statistics but in cultural change: a world where people are safe in their own homes, and where communities stand united against violence.

Her vision is one of collective responsibility, where friends, neighbours, and families know how to spot the signs, how to support, and how to speak out.

A Message of Hope

For anyone feeling scared, isolated, or unsure where to turn, Marina wants you to know: “You are not alone. There are people and places that can help you, and we are here for you.”

Be Part of the Mission

If Marina’s story inspires you, there are many ways to get involved—whether through supporting the Foundation, following along on social media at @HereForGood, or nominating someone extraordinary for the Hunt for a Hero Award, which honours everyday champions making communities safer and stronger.

The fight against domestic violence begins with understanding, and with people like Marina Pullin who dare to imagine a day without DFV.
